International conservation groups - Whale and Dolphin Conservation Soceity (WDCS) and Conservation Society (WCS) and The World Conservation Union (IUCN) undertook a study on the viability of creating dolphin sanctuaries in a few of Bangladesh's rivers and are yet to present their recommendations to the government.
