Algeria Says Won Battle Against Desert Locusts

Algiers - Algeria has won a war on millions of crop-eating locusts which plagued its agriculture industry over the past two years, the agriculture ministry said on Saturday.

"Victory is total...Locusts will no longer do any damage. The economy is protected," Abdelslam Chelghoum, agriculture ministry secretary-general, told a news conference.
