Ancient Maya Mural Unveiled
San Bartolo, Guatemala - U.S. archaeologists have discovered the "Sistine Chapel" of the Maya civilization - a finely painted, well preserved mural depicting the Maya creation myth and the crowning of a king.
Unearthed inside a ruined pyramid in the Guatemalan jungle near the ancient Maya city of San Bartolo, the 100 B.C painting is the oldest intact mural ever found in Meso-America.
