Commentary: Good news for energy sources and environment is blowing in the wind
United States - As our economy grows, people across the state are looking for a variety of sources of power, sources that find the right balance between the energy we need and preserving our environment
The Department of Natural Resources is involved in helping to expand the variety of clean, renewable energy sources. Leasing lands to generate wind power is one exciting new way we are earning revenue.
Across Washington, we manage more than 3 million acres of trust land, dedicated to generating revenue, and during the past two years, we generated nearly half-a-billion dollars by managing and leasing that land.
