Ethanol makes gains as gasoline prices climb

United States - Ethanol has been portrayed by competing interests as the answer to a national energy crisis, an environmental red herring, the savior of the American farm and a government gift to big agri-business.

GM began a major marketing campaign in January promoting flex-fuel vehicles in the U.S., and Ford is also offering a number of flex-fuel models.
