Feds offer habitat protection grants

Green River, Wyoming - USFWS spokeswoman Patricia Fisher said the agency will have about $7.1 million available in fiscal year 2004 to support on-the-ground conservation efforts on private lands through its Private Stewardship Grants Program.

Biologists have long known the key to the recovery of many endangered and threatened wildlife species rests on the conservation and habitat work of private landowners.
