India offers positive response to cease-fire

New Delhi, India - The Indian government said Monday that it would "respond positively" to Pakistan's announcement of a unilateral cease-fire along the line dividing Kashmir between the two nuclear-armed countries.

Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali of Pakistan said Sunday that his nation's soldiers would stop firing across the Line of Control that divides the disputed Himalayan region on Id al-Fitr, the festival that marks the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.
