Indonesia to Build 80,000 Homes for Shattered Aceh

Banda Aceh, Indonesia - Indonesia will build up to 80,000 new houses for those whose homes were swept away by the Dec. 26 tsunami in Aceh province and will train local Acehnese to build them, officials said Friday.

Indonesia has been working on a blueprint to rebuild shattered Aceh, taking advantage of the billions of dollars which have been pledged by donors around the world. The government has promised to consult Acehnese while they draw up the blueprint.
