Job growth on a hot streak |
Ottawa - The economy created 54,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate fell, Statistics Canada said in a report that came in much better than expected and shows a nation shaking off a dismal showing in the third quarter.
The federal agency said that of the job growth, 36,100 were full time positions and pointed to the revival of manufacturing hiring and strong gains in Quebec. The unemployment rate fell to 7.5 per cent from 7.6 per cent a month ago.
