Kyoto Protocol strengthened
World - Critics damn it for a long list of reasons and it has been declared dead several times, but the Kyoto Protocol emerged stronger than ever after the Montreal conference on climate change that ended on Saturday.
In a meeting that was gruelling and dramatic even by the extraordinary standards of past years, the UN pact for tackling greenhouse gases saw off a series of assaults and defiantly set its eyes on new horizons.
