Lawsuits Force Listing of Six Rare Birds as Endangered |
|
Washington, D.C., USA - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has listed six rare birds from around the world as endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
Listing international species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act restricts buying and selling of protected wildlife, increases conservation funding and attention, and adds scrutiny to projects proposed by U.S. government and multilateral lending agencies such as the World Bank.
