Milliband urges homeowners to ‘go green’

Eco-conscious homeowners could see their environmental efforts rewarded when the Energy and Climate Change Secretary announces details of a "green loans" scheme, allowing householders to install expensive power-saving technology with the help of Government money.

Ed Milliband, eager to offer people an incentive to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, hopes to overcome prohibitive costs and the fact that people move every nine to 12 years by attaching the loan to the property rather than the applicant.
