Nevada Officials Call for Halt to Work at Yucca Mountain

Washington, DC - Nevada elected officials of both parties told the House Government Reform Subcommittee today that the apparent falsification of data used to support licensing the Yucca Mountain Project in Nevada is reason enough to stop development of the nuclear waste repository.

"I do not believe Yucca Mountain will ever open," Reid said, "and Nevada and our nation will be safer for our successful efforts to stop the project."
