New HIV Therapy Clears Out Hidden Virus
London, England - In what may prove to be a major breakthrough in the fight against HIV, researchers testing a new approach to treating the disease are inching closer toward a possible cure by eliminating reservoirs of the virus that escape current treatment by hiding in some cells.
lead researcher Dr. David M. Margolis, a professor of medicine and public health at the University of North Carolina: "The new approach, in the future, may allow us to make progress in eradication of infection in an HIV-infected person"
