Nunavut moves to protect cultural heritage

Iqaluit, Nunavat, Canada - The Nunavut government says it's stepping up efforts to protect the territory's artifacts, and its more than 7,000 known archaeological sites.

But the minister of culture, language, elders and youth, Louis Tapardjuk, says many sites already have been disturbed, and some artifacts have been removed.
