Provincial government launches plan for “spirit bear” sanctuary |
Vancouver, British Columbia - Endangered bears indigenous to B.C.'s West Coast may soon have a new sanctuary after government and stakeholders released their recommendations for a land use agreement Saturday.
The recommendations on land use for the North and Central Coast regions were made by two planning tables composed of stakeholders including First Nations, resource industries, and conversation groups.
