Renowned Swedish retailer donates proceeds from toy sales to UNICEF projects
United Nations - This holiday season, scores of projects aimed at improving the education of school children around the world are set to profit from an IKEA initiative to the tune of €5 million (almost $7 million), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced today.
Through previous years' soft toy campaigns, UNICEF has received €8 million (over $11 million at current exchange rates) supporting 22 projects in 17 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.
