Route 66 motels stamped historic

Washington, D.C., USA - Neon-lit motels along Route 66, once considered tacky, have now been officially stamped as historic landmarks.

The mom-and-pop motels along the two-lane highway through the Southwest are among 11 sites added to the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
