Smoking to be banned on Italy’s Eurostar trains
Rome, Italy - Italy's Eurostar trains, which offer the fastest rail connections between Milan, Rome, Florence, Naples and other major cities, will ban smoking beginning March 1.
Violators risk a fine of E7, or $8.75, said Massimo Ghenzer, director of Trenitalia's passenger division. Smoking will still be allowed on older Intercity trains, another kind of fast train, but will be banned on new Intercity cars over the next few years.
