Solomon Islands Tsunami Aid Effort Gathers Pace

Gizo, Solomon Islands - An international relief operation for Solomon Islands tsunami survivors picked up its pace Friday, as reports of dysentery added urgency to the effort.

A French military plane from the Pacific island of New Caledonia was shuttling in supplies like water and purification systems, tents and tarps, food and medical items. ... Australian and New Zealand military transport craft have also brought in emergency supplies, and Australia said medical teams from its defense forces were on their way.
