The lost valley

Yosemite National Park, CA - Hetch Hetchy Valley was once a jewel of Yosemite National Park, a twin to Yosemite Valley. Then it was dammed and flooded. Now, thanks to a UC Davis grad student and others, it could become the greatest wild-lands restoration project in human history.

Scientists and environmentalists have put forth convincing evidence this past year that the dam could be demolished and the Hetch Hetchy Valley restored without losing a drop of water supply.
