Thousands of marine species discovered

Washington DC - An international coalition of scientists has detected 13,000 new marine species in the last year.

The potential for yet more new discoveries is high for the hundreds of scientists in the decade-long, $1billion census of marine life, which has already catalogued 38,000 types of organism.
