US makes ‘progress’ in visa clearance process

Washington - The US has made "steady progress" in the visa clearance process leading to a significant reduction in visa processing time for those wanting to study or work in certain sensitive scientific and technical fields in the country.

A report released by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) on Saturday cited "specific improvements" that have resulted in a significant reduction in visa processing time for those wishing to study or work in certain sensitive scientific or technical fields in the United States.
