Vail backs Hayman fire reforestation with $750K

Vail Resorts Inc. is wagering $750,000 that investing in the rehabilitation of forests and watersheds — none of which is contiguous to its ski areas — will increase its business nonetheless.

The money will go toward planting about 200,000 new trees, enhancing or creating 18 miles of recreational trails and repairing the ecosystem around four watersheds that supply the majority of the Denver area’s water.
