Vancouver Says ‘No’ Wal-Mart

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver has refused retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc., permission to open a store in one of Canada's largest cities.

Councilor Anne Roberts, who has led the fight against the store, told the city council that approving the application went against everything the city is trying to do to create neighborhood centers.
