Women in Kuwait participate for the first time in heated parliamentary elections

Kuwait City, Kuwait - Kuwaiti women turned out in force to vote and to stand for the first time in parliamentary elections in the oil-rich Gulf state after a heated campaign focused on electoral reform and corruption.

It is a very decisive day in Kuwaitis' life, especially women. Today and for the first time in their lives, Kuwaiti females will make history in the election both as first-time voters and candidates, one year after winning political rights.
